DHA embarked on a major IT transformation – with significant acquisition implications – as part of its mandate from Congress to consolidate Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services under a single source of authority, direction, and control.
ACTION
SERVICES PROVIDED
ZYGOS supports DHA by providing acquisition and contracting subject matter expertise to a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to Acquisition Regulatory Support and Acquisition Package Support. ZYGOS’ largest effort supporting DHA is on the Military Health System (MHS) Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) program. EITS is the centerpiece of DHA’s IT transformation initiative that will move it from a highly decentralized support model to one that is consolidated, modernized, and centrally controlled.
While primarily focusing on MHS EITS, ZYGOS has simultaneously supported various other high priority DHA acquisitions. In addition to the subject matter expertise and acquisition support ZYGOS provides to DHA programs, we also provide training and knowledge sharing about acquisition best practices, tools, resources, trends, and innovations.

RESULT
DHA has greatly improved its acquisition processes both in terms of quality and speed, and plans to award the first major contract under the MHS EITS initiative in FY21.
