UNITED STATES CONGRESS
SECTION 809 PANEL
CHALLENGE
The Section 809 Panel was established by Congress to streamline and improve DoD acquisition. The FY 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) gave the 18-person panel of experts two years to develop recommendations for streamlining and improving the defense acquisition process.
ACTION
SERVICES PROVIDED
ZYGOS was among very few contractor personnel hand selected to support the Section 809 Panel. Our work for the Panel was primarily on the IT Acquisition Team, where we researched and analyzed potential reforms to improve the IT acquisition process and its outcomes.
Following research and analysis, we authored numerous recommendations for consideration by the commissioners of the Section 809 Panel. Ultimately, seven of our team’s recommendations were voted in unanimously by the commissioners and included in the published reports.
