Josh Hackett, Partner

Mr. Josh Hackett has over 12 years of strategic IT and business consulting experience with special focus on DoD clients. He has led and been a part of a wide range of projects that cross the spectrum of strategic planning, acquisition support, and program management supporting clients across many different echelons of DoD and Federal Government organizations from CIO-level executives to program managers leading technology implementations.

Prior to joining the ZYGOS team, Mr. Hackett was an Associate Director with Gartner, Inc., the world's largest research and advisory firm for information technology products and services. His role included leading project teams made up of consultants and research analysts in performing Strategic Planning, Business Case Analysis, and Analysis of Alternatives for both commercial and Federal Government clients. Preceding his time at Gartner, Josh was an IT project lead for Binary Group, a boutique defense-focused consulting firm. During his tenure with Binary Group, Mr. Hackett led the functional requirements development for the Army's Defense Knowledge Online (DKO)/Army Knowledge Online (AKO) portal projects—supporting the identification, creation, and formulation of new capabilities and enhancements. Mr. Hackett cut his teeth in the world of strategic IT consulting in 2003 with his work at Booz Allen Hamilton where he worked with DoD clients on engagements ranging from strategic organizational redesign/change to system architecture.

Through Mr. Hackett's work across the spectrum of strategic decision making, clients have realized major cost savings and organizational efficiencies in the acquisition, implementation, and management of IT systems and infrastructure. During one recent engagement, Josh's team aided a client in revitalizing the acquisition of their entire spectrum of IT services. This realignment of the client's IT services involved changes to the portfolio of IT services being offered as well as the organization that managed and governed these services. Even though these changes weren't easy and didn't happen overnight, the resulting organizational structure and model for management and governance resulted in major cost savings while employing the latest cutting edge technological and management solutions including IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) best practices.

Mr. Hackett earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil/Structural) from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), and is certified in ITIL® V3 at the Foundation Level.
